Who did 24 use the silent clock for6/25/2023 ![]() Cook County Sheriff Richard Ogleby asked King to call off the march and the police in Cicero said they would ask the National Guard to be called out if it is held. Martin Luther King says he does not intend to cancel plans for an open housing march Sunday into the Chicago suburb of Cicero. In Los Angeles today comedian Lenny Bruce died of what was believed to be an overdoes of narcotics. President Johnson originally proposed an outright ban covering discrimination by everyone for every type of housing but it had no chance from the start and everyone in Congress knew it.Ī compromise was painfully worked out in the House Judiciary Committee. Brought traditional enemies together but it left the defenders of the measure without the votes of their strongest supporters. The recent fight in the House of Representatives was over the open housing section of the Civil Rights Bill. And I'm not a big fan of the silent clock at the very end of LAD.This is the early evening edition of the news. Milo's death is too sudden, but he could've gotten a silent clock if there was a slight re-edit.Īgreed on Tony and Heller, especially the latter. Larry deserved one but the episode ending is more about Tony's betrayal than his death, so the standard clock is more fitting. But the writers certainly had to make a silent clock decision here too and went with the standard clock-I like it. I do agree that dramatically a silent clock would've fit, and Paul certainly deserved one. ![]() I really love the punch the clock provides at the end of the episode. Paul Raines I'm gonna go against the grain. Maybe Curtis should've died before the final commercial break and have gotten one and the episode ends with the standard clock. I feel it's too dramatic a moment to get one, but I'm 50/50. One could argue that deserved a silent clock, but I'm not sure. ![]() I think a silent clock would've been unfitting.Ĭurtis I'm conflicted, because the episode ending is moreso for the nuke going off. ![]() Michelle shouldn't have gotten one either since she died via explosion and it's so fast and shocking. Palmer didn't have a clock at all, so it wouldn't have made sense. I call 24 the best cliffhanger show often, and it's not even close. The beeping effect is great, and usually underscores a lot of dramatic tension. Ok so I'm glad this is a topic because I have strong opinions on the clock.
